Pierhouse rolls out Pret online ordering
system
Pret A Manger went live nationwide last week with an online ordering system created by Pierhouse, the marketing and communications technology specialists.
The online ordering system covers the delivery of store-specific branch collateral, such as point of sale and health and safety material The Pret Online Stock Room has been designed so that staff can only view and order items that are appropriate for their branch, thereby reducing waste and improving compliance

Sandwich retailer Pret A Manger has selected Pierhouse to administer its in-store campaigns and improve compliance with the development of a system to produce store-specific collateral.
Initially the system was conceived for the marketing team but as the trials were such a success, other Pret departments saw its potential and before the nationwide roll-out, Pierhouse expanded it to also handle internal messaging relating to health and safety items.
Simon Hargraves, commercial director, Pret, said: "We have been impressed by Pierhouse's approach and understanding of our business.
"The company is a valued supplier providing an essential ingredient in the process of managing, creating and delivering our messaging to both staff and customers within an expanding and complex retail network".
To generate the various pieces of collateral, Pret utilises Pierhouse's automated artworking system, which can produce some 2,000 unique artworks an hour (compared with 10 an hour from a traditional studio).
Print-ready pdfs can be sent to suppliers anywhere in the country.
As well as holding all data and imagery in a central source, the system doubles as a compliance tool for all communication.
