Phoenixmedia runs web seminar programme
TV and video content specialist Phoenixmedia is hosting free events to demystify new media and web 3.0 and explain how they are rapidly changing the face of marketing and PR.
The seminars, which start on 5 July, feature representatives from MySpace and YouTube, while top of the agenda is the rapidly expanding online community Second Life Taking place at the renowned 3 Mills Film Studios (home of recent films '28 Weeks Later' and 'Sunshine'), the seminars give delegates the opportunity to watch representatives from the staggeringly successful online ventures carry out live demonstrations on how these forms of new media can offer companies a fresh set of business options
Over a buffet of food and drink, the delegates will learn invaluable techniques for taking advantage of the very latest in new media.
Phoenixmedia's CEO, Nicola Woodroff, explained: "There's a billion dollar community operating in Second Life and companies want to know what it's all about and how it could work for them.
"With Second Life's community increasing from three million users in March 2007 to over seven million in June 2007, and the recent BBC 'Money Programme' special and Sky News carrying out live broadcasts from within Second Life and fuelling the upsurge, it is becoming the world's fastest-growing economy".
She added: "The enquiries from our clients asking about the likes of Second Life, MySpace and YouTube have been steadily climbing this year.
"In response, we have created a series of events taking place through the summer to provide more people with the information they need to make the most of these opportunities".
The first free event, 'Virtual Worlds - Real Millions', focuses on unlocking the potential of Second Life and other virtual platforms for business, and takes place on Thursday 5 July from 2-5pm at 3 Mills Film Studios, Unit D2, Sugar House Yard, Sugar House Lane, Stratford, London, E15 2QS.
Subsequent events will take place bi-monthly throughout the summer.
As well as running the free seminars, Phoenixmedia is expanding its service roster with the addition of full new media management.
The company can manage all video requirements for marketing departments, producing on-demand video content for product launches and case studies, training sessions, company overviews and corporate events; as well as archiving and secure remote access; generation of computer generated imagery (CGI) and DVD creation.
