Specialist British mailing manufacturer PFE has enhanced its market leading Automailer 5 system, so it now carries the suffix ExP - indicating numerous benefits for "people and the planet".

Starting with the integrated PC unit, this now features a larger screen plus adjacent keyboard attached to a new movable arm which can be brought forward for the operator or moved to any position The access covers have also been improved in terms of strength and now open in pairs rather than the previous single units, allowing for quicker and easier access to the inserter heads and internal mechanisms

In output terms, another PFE innovation for the Automailer 5 ExP is the vertical stacking of finished envelopes, in tandem with box-size dividers and markers to facilitate faster removal and packing.

Other output options include a twin-bag system - whilst one is filled, the other is ready for sealing and labelling.

From an engineering viewpoint, drive, feed and fold systems have been re-engineered to maximise performance and life expectancy.

Environmental issues are superbly met by the use of single phase electricity and stepper motor technology to ensure minimal power consumption and very low noise and heat emissions.

All of these versatile and thoughtful features are contained within an ergonomic, robust and safety-conscious design, which is now finished in a tasteful two-tone colour scheme.

The world-leading features of the Automailer 5 remain firmly in place.

The processing speed of 8,000 filled envelopes per hour is unrivalled in a system which is also capable of job changes in seconds.

Configured with anywhere between two and 16 stations, options of OMR, Barcode, 2d matrix or OCR are available, as are choices of sheet feeding or continuous forms, whilst the PC control ensures full statistical and analytical reporting along with guaranteed integrity of every application.
