Leading UK branding company Pemberton and Whitefoord has created the branding and packaging for start up pet food company Organipets based in Oxford.

Organipets approached PandW to design the packaging for its cat and dog food range The design reflects the Organipets' promise of organic and natural pet food by depicting pets in care-free environments where they are able to just be themselves - for example running through a meadow

Black and white photography was used by the designers to create a natural feel and create a strong visual counterpoint to the market norm of bold, brash colours and cutesy line drawings and cartoon rendering of family pets.

Adrian Whitefoord, co-founder of Pemberton and Whitefoord, commented: "OrganiPets is a company with one passion in life - to make great food for the cat or dog you love.

"We wanted to create a design solution for the brand that reflects that abiding passion, essentially a design that would make OrganiPets truly stand out on shelf and be viewed as anything but run of the mill.

"The company's products are organic, they buy British to cut down the product's carbon footprint, they have recyclable packaging and they demand the highest standards of animal welfare from their farmers.

"You know when you buy this stuff there has been no nasty fertilisers anywhere near it.

"All this makes OrganiPets a premium product and we have reflected that quality in the packaging - particularly in the beautifully shot black and white photography which stands out radically from the category norm".
