Bollywood.tv, the leading online destination for South Asian entertainment, has entered an exciting new era in its expansion process and appointed People Group as its principal ad server.

By so doing, the website will further build on its vast content and global user base, which has already reached an average of one million hits a month People Group's Ad Network will become the marketing vehicle for www.bollywood.tv's dynamic inventory, including video advertising and film and sports sponsorship packages, which will be disseminated to a pool of global advertisers

Online publisher, People Group, launched Ad Network to access Britain's estimated one million-plus South Asian internet users.

The company is renowned as owner of online gaming company, Mauj, and matchmaking site shaadi.com, which was launched in 1997 and has gone on to become the largest online global platform for Asians to choose and meet potential marriage partners, with 10.1 million active members worldwide.

In relation to the partnership with Ad Network, CEO of www.bollywood.tv, Nigel Glynn-Davies, commented: "People Group Ad Network represented a great fit for www.bollywood.tv.

"As entrepreneurs in the online space, owning shaadi.com, Fropper and Astrolife, we felt they would represent a good partner to promote www.bollywood.tv to the Asian-focused media-buying companies".

Glynn-Davies, having recently returned from the Indian Cinema Conference at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival where the portal became the first ever new media company to be invited to speak on the panel, also recently announced the future content plans for the portal to position it as a 360 degree hub of the broadest spectrum of entertainment.

Following staggering growth of the site and its number of users in its first quarter, the exciting new portfolio of content makes www.bollywood.tv the first South Asian-focused new media company to incorporate the following elements: an independent online film festival and voting poll; content for mobile platforms, including clips, ringtones, screensavers, wallpapers to download and money-can't-buy competitions; regular sports content, including the cricket Twenty/20 series; an online shop featuring the best of Bollywood material and luxury goods from South Asia; the latest entertainment and music news; and an online betting exchange which will allow for the placing of bets during sports matches.
