The Free DVD Club launched last year via PDV's competition and free coupon portal Fair Exchange has been so successful that it is to be followed by the launch of a Free Book Club.

The Fair Exchange Free Book Club will be launched at the International Direct Marketing Fair later this month "The Free DVD Club has substantially boosted the quantity of fresh, permission-based data available to marketers, so we know the Free Book Club will continue this trend," said Bryn Morgan, marketing director of PDV

"In the same way as the Free DVD Club offers free DVDs, it will offer consumers aged 18 and over free books (no postage, no packing, no charges at all) in return for opting in to receive marketing messages or completing a five-minute questionnaire.

"Because we do not allow forced answers, data quality is impressive".

PDV will also provide visitors to its stand at IDMF with information about the 3.5 million Fair Exchange members whose customer records are available for rental.

These comprise 713,152 email records; 826,238 mail ones and 128,552 SMS listings - all fully permissioned and opted in.

The Free DVD Club is attracting more than 20,000 new members each month.

Questionnaires for both this and the new Free Book Club are totally free-form, multiple choice and allowing radio and image selection.

Completely free coupons, downloadable, updated daily and redeemable in 95 per cent of high street stores, including Sainsbury's and Tesco, are available through the secure online coupon delivery service developed by Couponstar.

Visitors to IDMF are invited to: Try a File for Free.

The PDV stand will also be tempting visitors with a Try a File for Free giveaway promotion, which offers them up to 100 free leads of their choice.

"We're so convinced our data will perform outstandingly that we're offering visitors some for free when they commit to a follow-up meeting," said PDV MD Bill Burey.

There will also be an hourly prize draw for an iPod: visitors can exchange their business card for an entry to the hourly prize draw for an iPod Touch, iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle or Digital Cameras.

And all entrants who answer a qualifying question will receive a free DVD.

"If you see someone wearing a shirt sporting the PDV logo and stand number, ask them how you can win an iPod, a camera or take a free DVD home with you," said PDV chairman Derick Hill.

The whole PDV team will be manning the stand, including two new faces, sales director Tony Coad and sales manager Troy Attwood.
