Oxford College student wins global CIM award
A student at the Oxford College of Marketing's centre in Oxford has won the CIM Best Worldwide Student Award.
Laura Horncastle, a CIM training student on the post-graduate diploma in marketing course, secured the recognition for her outstanding effort in the most recent managing marketing performance examination.
Rosie Phipps, principal of Oxford College of Marketing, said: "This award is a real accolade both for Laura and for Oxford College of Marketing.
Managing Marketing Performance is a tough paper within the suite of four modules that students need to pass in order to be awarded the CIM Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing.
"The fact that Laura's work has outshone that seen by CIM examiners across the globe is truly impressive.
"Laura has a great career path as a marketer ahead of her and we are delighted to have been the college that helped her to realise her potential".
Speaking about the award, Laura, who works for a clinical nutrition business, commented: "Since finishing my CIM courses I have been promoted twice: firstly from a sales position to a new role as a Product Manager and then, just three months later, to that of a Business Development Manager.
"I think this illustrates just how far my skills have developed as a result of my training".
Oxford College of Marketing, a CIM accredited study centre, offers CIM training by distance learning, part-time evening courses, and an intensive weekend programme at centres across the UK.
In recent years, the college has grown to become the fourth largest CIM courses accredited centre in the UK with exam results that rank it as one of the top performing colleges.
The college also offers one-day marketing courses.
