RFU picks OutlookSoft 5 to monitor performance
The software will collate data and produce reports that monitor the measurement and performance of players, referees and coaches and the development of the sport across the UK.
OutlookSoft Corporation, the first company to enable predictable performance management, has announced that the England Rugby Football Union (RFU) has selected OutlookSoft 5 to manage the reporting and delivery of operational intelligence from its information systems that monitor the organisations performance from grass roots to the senior England team.
The RFU is the governing body for the sport of Rugby Union in England, responsible for the development, management and regulation of all levels of the game.
OutlookSoft 5 will automate the production and delivery of reports from various financial and operational RFU systems such as 'RugbyFirst' which monitors the measurement and performance of players, referees and coaches, overall participation in the game and the development of the sport across the UK.
The reporting solution provided by OutlookSoft 5 will eliminate the need for multiple spreadsheets and automate the production of the board reporting pack to allow the RFU's executive team to quickly identify the progress and performance of different levels of the organisation.
This will provide the executive board with a consistent snap shot of success and measurement against the RFU's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and objectives.
OutlookSoft will allow the RFU's executive team to 'drill-down' into a variety of areas, such as the number and performance of players, government policies and general health of the game in England, providing greater visibility for the sporting body.
The solution will help support the RFU's commitment to improve the quality of information available within the organisation and encourage accountability from management for performance and results.
Nick Bunting, Head of Planning, Funding and Resources, explained: "The RFU is responsible for measuring the success of Rugby throughout the nation from the grass roots to elite rugby.
"It's vital that we adopted a reporting solution that we could trust to provide senior management with accurate information at a glance.
"We have invested heavily in the transaction level systems, OutlookSoft will present us with an efficient summary of the organisation's performance and allow us to identify any areas of concern straight away.
"We were also impressed with OutlookSoft's flexibility and the effort the team made to understand the ethos and culture of the RFU when designing the solution.
"The familiar Excel based interface was an advantage; it will allow the team to leverage their current experience and adapt easily to the reporting solution.
"OutlookSoft will allow us to automate the reporting process and will ultimately allow our staff to focus on the analysis of the game rather than the collection of data".
Mike Hawes, Managing Director for OutlookSoft, said: "While the sport of Rugby may seem like a simple game, the management of the sport can be very complex as performance and development needs to be measured through out the entire organisation.
"OutlookSoft 5 will equip the RFU executive team with the ability to access this information from a unified system at any given time.
"This will be critical to the effective management and strategic direction of the RFU as one of the most advanced and admired sporting unions in the world".
