Ogilvyone launches email marketing service
Leading direct marketing and digital agency OgilvyOne Worldwide London has set up a new practice to deliver cutting-edge email marketing on behalf of its clients.
OgilvyOne's email practice is headed by Skip Fidura, and will also include an email insight manager (to be announced shortly) as well as a team made up of existing account managers, creatives, copywriters and data analysts from around the agency.
Fidura - a prominent member of the DMA's Email Marketing Council - has been working in email marketing and interactive direct marketing since the late 1990s, making him something of a veteran in the field.
In 2000, he was asked to move to London from San Francisco to open Digital Impact's office in the UK.
The move from across the pond was supposed to be a six-month assignment, but has since turned into a permanent arrangement and Skip is now happily domiciled in England, joining OgilvyOne as an email consultant in 2006.
During his career he has worked on many world-renowned brands, including hp, Intel, Microsoft, Odeon Cinemas and Wells-Fargo.
"Globally, OgilvyOne has long been one of the pioneers in email marketing, but we have decided to consolidate our lead and take things up to the next level," said Fidura.
"Email has gone through its 'sexy' period and is now the primary tool people use to manage their digital lives.
We will leverage this shift to deliver true cutting-edge marketing solutions for all our clients, especially given the digital experience and creativity, and technical resources at our disposal here within the agency." Initially the practice will be drawing on OgilvyOne's existing client base which includes such mega-brands as IBM, American Express and BT.
However, long-term the intention is to gain new business.
Mike Dodds, managing director of OgilvyOne, added: "Our approach to email is unique - we use it as a tool to drive the digital dialogue forward.
The ability to leverage the successes we have already created with our existing digital clients will really boost the email service in the UK.
It's an extremely exciting development for an agency like ours that puts digital at the very heart of everything it does.".
