Library signs up Kolvoort underwater images

Nature Picture Library has added a large selection of imagery by Dutch underwater photographer Willem Kolvoort.

Willem Kolvoort has been interested in freshwater life since his childhood and, at the age of 13, he made his own diving mask from an old inner tube and an oval plate of glass.

A number of years later he still makes his own underwater camera housings, being unsatisfied with the commercially available units.

He has been highly commended four times in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, has supplied imagery for several books, and contributes regularly to national and international photographic and biological magazines.

He has photographed all over the world, but his favourite location is still the pond in his back garden.
