A 3M product story

3M is to exhibit a range of projection and digital display products at Integrated Systems Europe 2009, to be held on 3-5 February at Amsterdam RAI.

Stand highlights include 3M's handheld micro projector for the business traveller market, short-throw projection systems for classrooms and conference facilities, and rear projection technology for high impact, digital advertising and signage applications.

The MPro110 micro projector weighs 152g and measures 115 x 50 x 22mm.

It can be easily connected to a laptop for instant large screen projection on nearby flat surfaces, in addition to a range of other digital applications such as multimedia mobile phones, Ipods, digital cameras and games consoles.

Photos, video clips, presentations and other visual media can be projected from 5in up to 50in diagonal.

3M said the MPro110 is ideal for business travellers who deliver a lot of presentations but do not want to carry bulky desktop projectors around with them.

It added that the micro projector is useful for giving impromptu sales pitches to customers on the road or in a last-minute meeting.

The SCP716 modular projection system includes all the attributes of the current SCP712 modular system plus enhanced features.

These include 2,400 lumens brightness, long lamp life of 5,000 hours, and DLP BrilliantColour technology for vibrant, rich colours.

3M's SCP716 modular system scales from basic data projection up to a high specification multimedia solution, depending on customers' specific needs and budgets.

The system includes SCP716 projector, featuring revolutionary Vikuiti Super Close Projection technology from 3M, with fixed wall-mount, folding wall-mount without speakers, folding wall-mount with speakers, I/O connection box and annotation pod as optional items.

Alongside this model, 3M will show its SCP717 desktop and wall-mounted super close projector and SCP740 high brightness WXGA projector.

The SCP717 is a high brightness, DLP, short-throw projector and is ideal for space-challenged conference rooms, boardrooms, schools and colleges.

The extreme off-axis short throw capability of the SCP717 replaces the need for traditional ceiling-mount projectors and reduces light shining in the presenter's eyes.

It has an integrated wind tunnel design to minimise heat and fan noise, it is portable and its fully integrated connectivity also makes it a perfect tabletop media hub.

The SCP740 is designed to match the wider screen sizes of today's laptops and to support popular video formats such as HDTV.

This wide screen output is especially useful when business presenters wish to display Excel spreadsheets and other data type applications.

The SCP740 also features full connectivity making it an ideal desktop media device.

Using Vikuiti Super Close Projection the SCP740 can project larger images from shorter distances (60in projection from 35in and 100in projection from 58.4in), which minimises shadowing and light in the presenter's eyes.

Also on the stand will be the Vikuiti Rear Projection Film, which is capable of transforming a window or glass panel into a branding and promotions tool by enabling video, static images and dynamic messaging to be projected directly onto its surface.

Vikuiti Film offers crisp, high contrast image quality combined with a wide viewing angle of 180 degrees.

It can be effectively viewed in daylight and in bright ambient light locations.

The flexibility of Vikuiti Film means it can be cut to any shape and size, reflecting, for example, company logos and brands.

It is also lightweight, easy to install and can be applied to rigid, clear acrylic panels to create easily portable displays.
