Online stock image library moodboard.com has added another 40,000 images to its award-winning website, making it one of the fastest-growing stock image libraries.

The brainchild of Mike Watson, founder of award-winning royalty-free agency Digital Vision (which was sold in 2005 to Getty Images for $165m), moodboard.com is quickly gaining a reputation among the creative industries as the cheaper, faster and more viable option to the more established players on the market, such as Getty Images.

Now boasting more than 60,000 images, moodboard delivers clear price pointing in four categories of images, simple self search, a comprehensive free research service and creative images that deliver stand-out from others on the market.

Leading the way in innovation, last month moodboard was first image provider to launch a pay-what-you-want scheme with its moodboard unlimited collection.

Moodboard has also scooped a number of awards for its creativity and usability.

Watson said: "Until now we've been focusing on our usability - to offer the creative industries the easiest, quickest and cheapest way to get the right photography for their artwork.

"And now we're expanding our collections to ensure breadth of choice matches our functionality.

"During the last couple of years, more than 20,000 shots from our squad of experienced professional photographers have formed our unique collections.

"The addition of another 40,000 following a deal with Corbis is a major boost to our all-round offer.

"In addition to this, we're one of only a few suppliers to invite contributions from semi-pro photographers for consideration, further expanding our collections and ensuring we are providing the creative industry with the very latest talent from the photography circuit".
