For the first time, club directors, managers, sponsors and personalities can use their mobiles to interact and vote live at this year's Northwest Football Awards Dinner.

Mobile marketing leader Mediaburst has announced that it will provide text services at this year's Northwest Football Awards Dinner to be held at Midland Hotel, Manchester, on 12 November.

Organised by Out There Events and sponsored by Barclay's, over 450 club directors, managers, sponsors and personalities attending the event will be able to use their mobiles to vote live for the player they believe should win the Goal of the Year Award.

When it comes to football, the Northwest can put forward a credible case that it is the centre of world football and related expertise.

The region's 26 professional clubs are globally recognised as leaders in raising revenues and brand awareness and have combined revenues of approximately GBP600 million (source: Deloitte).

Each year, the awards ceremony recognises the talent and creativity housed within the region's clubs and the commercial teams responsible for building their brands in the national and international communities.

Aside from Barclay's Goal of the Year Award, the other awards comprise Community Club of the Year, Best Club Marketing Campaign, Best Club Sponsorship, Best Non-Matchday use of Grounds, Commercial Team of the Year, Business Award for Services to Football, Player of the Year (for each League plus Conference), Northwest Player of the Year, Northwest Manager of the Year, Northwest Club of the Year, and Lifetime Contributions to Northwest Football.

"Clearly we're delighted to support the mobile initiatives of Out There Events and Barclay's and to provide interactive text services for guests at this year's Northwest Football Awards ceremony," said Stuart Brown, Mediaburst's sales director.

"This is the first time that they will be able to use their mobiles during the event to vote live for a particular award".
