Mediama UK flies flag for corporate comms

Mediama of France, a specialist in digital printing, has opened a subsidiary in the London region in order to supply its innovative products to the British market.

Its Winflag printed flags for corporate communications are an innovative and eye-catching promotional tool.

Winflag, the company's leading product, provides companies with a way to promote their brand or product.

It is a fully rotatable flag and flagpole, which can be customised to deliver any message.

It can be used either indoors or outdoors, and is ideal for use at trade shows and at sporting events.

Winflag comes in three sizes: 2.30 metres high with a 200cm/60cm flag, 3.50 metres high with a 300cm/90cm flag, and 4.80 metres high with a 430cm/90cm flag.

All the models are easy to transport and install.

Winflag comes with a range of fastening solutions.

The steel-base plate is ideal for the smallest model, and is suited to both indoor and outdoor applications.

For hard surfaces, the ballast base (80kg) is the most suitable; it can be used in car parks and on pavements, for example.

For soft surfaces, including snow and sand, the Winflag can be installed using an auto-drill base, which consists of an aluminium tube and a high-density PVC screw thread.

Mediama was founded in Lille (in northern France) in the 1990s, specialising in printing flags and manufacturing flagpoles.

As the company developed, it began to apply its cutting-edge printing technology to a range of other items, including banner ads, sunshades and deckchairs.

"Today, we can print on almost anything," explained Julien Bovo, head of sales in the UK for Mediama.

"We've even printed ads for clients on armchairs and sofas".

Mediama's French operation currently employs around 30 people.

As the company grew, they started to look around for opportunities to expand their sales abroad, and the UK was identified as a priority.

"We did some market studies, and we quickly saw that the market in the UK was booming, and that it had good prospects for growth," said Bovo.

With the help of UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), Mediama's British office opened for business in July 2007 and has been expanding since.

"We are working with a number of PR agencies in the UK to try and promote our products to their clients, and we're also trying to work with brand names in the UK," said Bovo.

"In France, we are working with some very big brands, including companies like BP, Ford and Nestle - we are still right at the beginning of the process, in the UK".

Mediama's UK office is based in Tonbridge (in south-east England).

It provides companies with communication solutions printed on fabric, using digital technology (with a 1200 Dpi definition) and screen process technology.

Mediama has developed a wide range of communication solutions including Winflag and Win'Xtrem, as well as customised printings on sunshades, lampshades and armchairs.
