MD-UK LED retrofitting kit for fluorescent signs

MD-UK has developed a range of LED retrofitting kit for marketers to replace their existing fluorescent tubes and ballast with LED tubes and transformers for display applications and signage.

Using energy efficient LED tube lighting, MD-UK's kits come complete with: two LED tubes; tube support brackets; 3m of electrical cable; 12V transformer; transformer mounting plate; and easy-to-follow instructions.

The company said there is mounting pressure on businesses to save money as well as have a responsible environmentally 'green' policy.

Traditional fluorescent tube lighting is not energy efficient - toxic mercury is released into the environment when these bulbs are broken or dumped into landfills.

MD-UK said LED bulbs have no mercury and are recyclable and the lifetime of LED bulbs is 50 times longer than a fluorescent tube.

LEDs also run cooler so businesses can save money on air-conditioning costs.

Maintenance can be kept at a minimum and power consumption is also reduced.

The 12V transformer can be mounted internally or externally depending on application.

The LED tubes are fixed by two sprung clips that allow the tubes to be rotated to obtain the optimum lighting.

The LED tubes have directional light and therefore different lighting effects can be achieved.

The company's display range includes: poster frames, poster stands, 'A' boards, LED lightboxes and banner stands.
