The Marketing Communications Consultants Association (MCCA) has appointed its new chairman, Gary Brine, founder, group CEO and president of US operations of Gyro International.

Brine takes over from Graham Kemp, founder of The Marketing Store, who has carried out the role during a three-year term as chairman.

Kemp commented on his tenure as chairman: "The MCCA has continued to grow and flourish in membership and in the increasing variety of disciplines represented - testament to the MCCA's relevance and contribution in today's fast-changing world of communications".

He added: "Gary is both passionate and knowledgeable about the industry, having built his own highly successful business.

"He is fully committed to seeing the whole industry move forward".

Gary Brine founded Gyro International in 1991.

The agency has grown to become Europe's leading integrated communications agency, poised to become a major global force.

Brine said: "I am delighted to be able to continue the great work Graham Kemp initiated.

"The MCCA represents some of the very best agencies in the UK and international markets and I want to make sure we support them to build better and more successful businesses in the support framework the MCCA can provide".

The MCCA's managing director, Scott Knox, said: "Over the past three years we have seen the MCCA grow substantially as we continue to focus on issues, services and practices that actually make a difference to an agency's bottom line.

"With Graham stepping down we needed someone that could not only continue his good work but also drive the MCCA on to its next level.

"We chose Gary because of his enthusiasm and passion for the industry as well as the wealth of experience his brings with.

"This is an exciting time for the association and we are all looking forward to Gary's input".

Kemp is due to hand over the role to Brine at the next MCCA Board Meeting.
