Licensing Awards publish shortlist
The Licensing Source Book has announced the category finalists for The Licensing Awards 2007, which recognise and reward innovation and excellence in licensed product development and retailing.
The Licensing Awards 2007 recognise and reward innovation and excellence in licensed product development, retailing and licensed properties and celebrate the industry's achievements The Licensing Awards 2007 will take place on 13 September 2007 at The Royal Lancaster Hotel and are organised by The Licensing Source Book, part of Max Publishing
The awards will recognise products, retailers and property owners as well as a selection of special awards.
The judging for the product categories, for which 4,000 products were entered, took place on 12 June 2007 by a prestigious panel of retailers from leading brands such as MandS, Woolworths and Mothercare.
The judges assessed each product entry considering the following criteria: the excellence of design, innovation and originality; consumer targeting and quality of manufacture and packaging.
The Retail finalists were selected following a process of canvassing opinion across the whole industry.
Thousands of nomination forms were sent to manufacturers, suppliers and importers of licensed products inviting them to state which retailers excel in their retail delivery of licensed merchandise to the public.
The consolidated results of this nomination process were then validated by a panel of industry experts to arrive at the finalists.
The Property finalists were arrived at through nominations from licensees and retailers with each asked to consider the properties' licensing activity over the last year.
