Markettiers4dc wins Motor Show PR contract
Award-winning broadcast PR specialist Markettiers4dc has been successful in its bid for the British International Motor Show broadcast PR contract after a competitive pitch.
The British International Motor Show returns to ExCeL London this year and is hoping to attract over half a million people, making it the biggest show in the UK.
With over 600 cars, 60 marques, plenty of global premieres and a whole host of new, interactive features, the show promises something for everyone from car enthusiasts to families like.
The contract was awarded by the show organisers, imie and the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
Markettiers4dc will work closely with the show's consumer PR agency, 77PR, and specialist automotive PR agency, PFPR.
The broadcast PR objectives for the campaign require Markettiers4dc to build the show's profile across the broadcast media, create a sense of anticipation in the run-up to opening, create news that is not dependent on the show content, capitalise on the events calendar, maximise ad hoc opportunities and position the show as an "event" and a great day out.
David Oakley, Consultant at Markettiers4dc, commented: "Markettiers4dc has created a broadcast PR strategy that will not just offer eye-catching, practical and technologically sound broadcast solutions across TV, radio and, crucially, online, but which will help strongly drive advance sales to the show.
"Our creativity and vast media team will ensure large penetration across all the key broadcast media.
"The show is the biggest consumer event in the UK and we look forward to achieving the broadcast coverage that meets imie's and the SMMT's targets and objectives".
Janet Wilkinson, Communication Manager at the SMMT, said: "The freshness of Markettiers4dc's approach, its creativity and experience won them the day.
"Most importantly, we know they can deliver".
This is the fourth time that Markettiers4dc has worked on the show.
On the last occasion in 2004 it generated more than 2,200 pieces of broadcast coverage around the event.
Press Day is on 22 July, with the Show open to the public from 23 July to 3 August.
