In 2007, a Munken (Arctic Paper) campaign urged designers to take a proactive approach to environmental responsibility and to spread that message throughout the industry.

Arctic Paper wanted to promote environmental awareness, so designers were offered the chance to apply for a grant in the shape of paper for environmental projects Response was high and with many great projects submitted one of the outstanding projects chosen for the paper grants was the Manor Earth pledge

The awarded project, Manor Earth from Eastbourne firm, Manor Creative, is presented in a booklet and on the company website, pulling together the main environmental stewardship issues including reduction of waste, environmentally friendly inks, sustainably sourced papers, an environmental management system, consideration of the supply chain and becoming carbon neutral while supporting worthwhile causes.

Arctic Paper's aim was to support environmentally conscious design projects by offering a paper grant from Munken.

It was open to any designers or advertising agencies who have an environmental project under way to visit the Arctic Paper website for further information and an application.

Designers are also encouraged to spread the environmental message.

"The Manor Creative project was exactly what we felt help promote Arctic Paper's approach to environmental responsibility", said Mark Soale, Business Development Executive at Arctic Paper UK.

Manor Creative has been operating for over 30 years from Sussex and is a one-stop solution for fine quality design, print and multimedia products.

They handle projects from SMEs to major blue-chip companies, including City institutions, industry, publishing houses, major auction houses, local and regional Government and the corporate market place.

"Putting all this information onto paper and making it an attractively designed document naturally lent itself to the Munken campaign which we submitted our project to; we were delighted to hear when we were shortlisted and being awarded full support was a fantastic recognition for both our design studio and activities as a company", said Ryan Gearing, Marketing and Design Manager at Manor Creative.
