MMUBS student Rachel Bullock has been named Young Student Marketer of the Year by Heist, the Higher Education Information Services Trust.

Rachel Bullock, who is completing her finals on the BA (Hons) Retail Marketing course at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School, collected the 'Gold' award from the BBC's Fiona Bruce at the Heist annual bash at Old Trafford in May.

The 22-year-old also won Student of the Year at the CIM Swot Awards, the previous Friday at the Manchester Hilton.

Bullock, from Nottingham, spent her MMU placement year with the University's in-house Marketing and Communications team, where she made an outstanding contribution to marketing and PR events and campaigns.

Her main work was on the Impact Campaign: the rebranding and profiling of MMU in 2006-7, which included the staging of the Vice-Chancellor's Installation at Manchester Town Hall.

The Impact Campaign also won a Heist 'Gold' Award for MMU for 'Best Use of Traditional Media'.

Huw Morris, Dean of MMU Business School, said: "I congratulate Rachel on these two national awards for marketing - we have some really outstanding people studying marketing and PR with us and we wish them every success in their chosen careers.
