Email marketing practices trigger spam filters
A deliverability study from Lyris provides further evidence to dispel the myth that message content is the key reason ISPs filter legitimate email marketing messages into the spam folder.
Lyris ListManager was the most comprehensive of the email marketing products it reviewed, in particular providing the facility for users to register for multiple newsletters with one sign-up.
ListManager ensures CondeNet UK can manage its email distribution lists and backed by Lyris' expertise, CondeNet UK is able to maintain a good sender reputation with ISPs, which maximises deliverability rates.
Combined with the measurability of email, this enables the company to demonstrate return on investment to clients for their promotional emails.
Lauraine Turner, director of IT at Conde Nast Publications, commented: "It is essential that we reward our members' loyalty with email newsletters that are personalised, timely and relevant; we also have a responsibility to our clients to show that their advertising budget is well spent and effective.
"In the digital format this hinges on deliverability, and working with Lyris gives us confidence that emails reach the inbox and are opened, which in turn ensures promotional material is viewed by a large target audience".
Andrew Robinson, managing director at Lyris UK, commented: "Conde Nast needs to replicate the high-calibre of its print publications with its digital offerings; a key element of this strategy is to ensure emails overcome any potential technical hurdles and reach the inbox where they are welcomed by their recipients.
"CondeNet can then provide accurate results and feedback to its advertisers, thereby justifying revenue spend".
Turner confirmed: "Overall Lyris has made our email management process more automated - and therefore quicker - at the same time increasing its accuracy and effectiveness".
