Data solutions specialist Lloyd James Group has acquired Dudley Jenkins's list broking business from DLG in a step that bolsters LJG as a big player in the UK data broking sector.

Established in the 1970s, Dudley Jenkins is one of the oldest, best-known and most successful UK data brokers in the UK.

It was bought by Koninklijke Wegener NV in 2002 and by DLG in October 2006 as part of their acquisition of Wegener DM's entire UK data business.

Thriving on a pursuit of excellence in client servicing, Dudleys has always maintained impartiality in its advice and data supply while latterly also being able to benefit from having direct access to the data sources of its parent.

DLG's decision to hand over its broking mantle to Lloyd James is a clear move designed to focus its attention on the provision of its own freshly collected and opted-in data, in the pursuit of delivering maximum ROI to its clients.

As the leading supplier of lifestyle data to UK direct marketers, DLG has stated its aspiration to become the first data provider to allow access to the freshest high volume, high conversion and measurable lead-to-purchase data to all companies and across all channels.

Jeremy Whitaker, CEO of DLG, commented: "The requirement to service the data broking needs of a wide portfolio of business sectors no longer fits with DLG's ambitious plans of further accelerating real-time, multi-channel, high volume lead generation".

He added: "Our overarching aim is to deliver a fully integrated, multi-channel data service from the point of data collection, right through ongoing lead qualifying to the end result of the client making the sale.

"Focusing expressly on our own data will allow us to best achieve this".

Lloyd James, CEO of Lloyd James Group, said: "We are delighted to be taking over the broking business of Dudley Jenkins, and will continue to provide the excellence of service and advice that clients of Dudleys have come to expect.

"Our immediate priority will be to ensure the absolute best for all of Dudley Jenkins's current clients".

Under the deal, the business relationships of all Dudley Jenkins's broking clients pass to Lloyd James Group.

The Dudley Jenkins name remains in the ownership of DLG.
