Birkenhead-based door drop company LinkDirect has been appointed by Thomson Local Directories to handle the door-to-door deliveries of 66 of their total of 173 directories nationwide.

LinkDirect recently announced a major contract win from BT for the delivery of The Phone Book, and has now achieved further success when Thomson Local Directories appointed it to handle the door-to-door deliveries of 66 of the total of 173 directories nationwide.

The contract is worth over GBP1.5m per annum and makes LinkDirect the second largest distributor of directories in the UK.

Operations Director Peter Rand commented: "We were hoping for this increased level of business and we are delighted that Thomson has confirmed its belief in our ability to both deliver on target and on time, and in our innovative use of technology.

"You cannot afford to stand still in this market and we are developing more exciting initiatives to further enhance the service we provide".

LinkDirect delivers directories, leaflets and free newspapers on a national scale but in recent years the business has consistently increased its share in the print directory delivery market, and now provides a service also to all the major directory producers Chris Roxburgh, LinkDirect's MD, said: "Our directory division has been a real success story in recent years and its expansion is in line with company plans to provide ever more accountable levels of service and develop the unaddressed mail market on a national, regional and local level".

Thomson Local Directories are delivered to approximately 22 million residential and business addresses every year.

LinkDirect is more than a door-drop service.

It is an independent team of professionals, offering a range of delivery channels and response analysis to achieve effective campaigns and measurable results.

Government, retail, FMCG, charity and leisure clients have included the GLA, Clarins, English Heritage, Numark, BT, SPAR, Age Concern, Yellow Pages, all major political parties, Eurotunnel, colleges, Councils and regional tourist boards.

The directors/owners of LinkDirect are Chris Roxburgh, Peter Rand and Kaye Smith.
