Samantha Loveday from Licensing.biz reports that the film brand has linked with Barcrest Group for range of amusement and gaming machines.

One of the leading companies in the European amusement industry has forged a partnership to produce a range of amusement and gaming machines with Hammer Films themes for markets in Europe.

Initially the programme will roll out in the UK, where the line of reel and video-based games will be targeted at the pub, arcade and bingo sectors.

The games will take their themes from famous Horror films, as well as from the brand itself.

The first phase of the launch is expected to take place in Q4 of this year.

"Horror themes have long been popular with games players in arcades, pubs and bingo clubs," said Tim Kennedy, sales and commercial director for Barcrest Group.

"Add the iconic and universally known Hammer brand and you have what we feel will be a winning combination".

Janet Woodward, head of licensing at Coolabi - the global licensing agent for the Hammer Films brand - added: "The visually arresting images associated with the Hammer brand are perfect for the amusement industry and Barcrest Group, with its leading role in that industry, is the perfect partner to bring Hammer to the gaming sector".
