Readers from the licensing news website Licensing.biz have made their predictions for the hottest licences of 2008, with pre-school and publishing sectors rating highly.

Pre-school hit Little Princess, The Mr Men Show, Paddington Bear and Indiana Jones have all been highlighted by Licensing.biz readers as properties to watch in 2008 We asked what the biggest licences of 2008 will be

Kirsty Guthrie, director of KJG, responded: "I think properties like In The Night Garden will continue to perform due to the extensive marketing efforts behind it.

"What will also be a property worth reckoning with is Little Princess - with a 20-year publishing heritage, a firm favourite with every three to five-year-old girl (and boy), the continuous support from Milkshake and the consumer products programme launching at retail early in 2008, this is certainly a pre-school property that needs to be on people's radar".

Nicolas Loufrani, MD of Smiley Licensing, meanwhile believes that Chorion's new Mr Men Show will have a big impact: "These characters have a stylish look and come from publishing, which I think is kind of the aristocracy of licensing - good luck to Paddington as well".

Hana's Helpline has also been highlighted by Mary Vacher of Random House Children's Publishing: "It's fun, caring and every child will be comforted watching it," she said.
