Creative network Knifedge has designed the broadcast titles for Wonderland, BBC2's new series of eight single documentaries which air from mid-January.

The Wonderland series is edited by Nick Mirsky, the BBC executive producer best known for his work on acclaimed programmes The Armstrongs and Blood on the Carpet.

In Wonderland, Mirsky has worked with six different directors to create eight one-off films about real people living intriguing, unusual lives.

Knifedge was tasked with producing a quirky title sequence which captured the essence of these eight very diverse films.

The resulting master titles use a 'window' effect, where live footage from one of the films is seen through the Wonderland series title name, as the type zooms towards the viewer.

Sandra Goddard, Design Director at Knifedge, commented: "Wonderland is a fascinating series of observational films, loosely based around unusual characters in our society.

"We decided the best solution was to keep the titles simple, with the word Wonderland acting as the window frame through which viewers can see these stories unfold".

The first film in the Wonderland series was broadcast on 16 January 2008.
