Web partnership helps pottery to expand
A collaboration with a local web design and hosting firm has enabled Moorland Pottery to successfully launch two new giftware ranges.
The Burslem-based manufacturer commissioned Jellifish Internet Services, also based in the Mother Town, to produce an e-commerce website and internet marketing strategy for the Scraffito and Cup Cake ranges.
Jellifish developed a bespoke site introducing visitors to the full product range, Moorland's highly specialised workforce and providing details of the history of the 21-year-old company.
And the Queen Street firm also ensured the site featured highly in search engine rankings to help people find it.
As a result, Moorland's sales doubled, and the increased popularity of its products encouraged it to relaunch exclusive, traditional lines like art deco tableware and hand-decorated artware pieces created by Jon Plant.
Moorland Pottery Partner Adrian Tilsley said: "We were delighted to team up with a local company, especially after seeing the quality of Jellifish's work.
"It was a big project which had to be turned around quickly, and I was impressed by their professionalism and expertise.
"Most importantly, the site has been very effective and enabled us to increase sales, which was the main objective".
