The Institute of Direct Marketing has launched a new one-day course, The Essentials of B2B Marketing, and added six leading B2B marketing practitioners to its elite B2B Council of Management.

The IDM has launched a new one-day course, The Essentials of B2B Marketing, which will run on 27 June and 22 October 2008 in London.

In the course, some of B2B marketing's most accomplished and respected experts will take delegates through every key stage of the B2B campaign development and execution process.

The course will cover everything from planning and preparation to evaluating and sourcing data, from targeting to testing criteria, and from creativity to cost-control.

The IDM has also announced the date for the Sixth Annual IDM B2B Conference.

This prestigious event will take place on 2 April 2009.

The Institute has also added six leading B2B marketing practitioners to its elite B2B Council of Management.

Each of the new members is a recognised expert in their field, and they are drawn from both client companies and suppliers.

The B2B Council of Management advises the IDM on aspects of training and development programmes for the B2B marketing community.

New council members include: Lawrence Mitchell, Marketing Director, Reed Business Information; Pippa Old, Channel Marketing Manager, Oracle; Richard Lee, Managing Director of Blue Sheep; Malcolm Cotton, Managing Director of Chemistry TM; Edward Weatherall, Managing Director, Concep; Zina Manda, Director, Mardev.
