Intermarketing raises £28,000 for
cancer charity

In January this year, Leeds-based Intermarketing and Communications Group set themselves a challenge to raise £20,000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer by the beginning of June.

The actual total raised amounts to £28,160.88 Intermarketing is a marketing agency with 36 staff

The Managing Director's wife is terminally ill with breast cancer and the company employees wanted to do something worthwhile to show their support.

Everyone's names were put into a hat and drawn out to create four teams.

The teams have been competing against one another to raise the most money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, the UK's leading breast cancer charity.

Fundraising activities include a Crocus Walk in Roundhay Park, Leeds half marathon, an online auction, baking and selling cakes, making and selling birthday cards, selling pin badges and a charity golf day, dinner and auction at Marriott Hollins Hall in Baildon.

The money raised will go towards Breakthrough's vital research, campaigning and education work.

Intermarketing's Managing Director, Chris Henry, said: "It is overwhelming how much energy and effort everyone has put into this challenge: clients, suppliers, local businesses, family and friends have been very generous and supportive.

"Breakthrough is a charity very close to our hearts and we are delighted to have raised an amount of money that can help them to make a difference".

Breakthrough Breast Cancer's Director of Fundraising, Chris Askew, said: "We are delighted that Intermarketing set themselves such a fantastic amount to raise for Breakthrough and have been able to reach this total in such a short space of time.

"This highlights the huge effort made from all of Intermarketing's staff.

"These funds will help bring Breakthrough closer to its vision of a future free from the fear of breast cancer.".
