Intelligent approach wins greener driving award
Integrated agency Intelligent Marketing has been selected as one of just two agency winners in this years Cars NOT Carbon competition announced at the DTI in Westminster.
Run by the LowCVP (Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership) the competition aims to raise awareness for the opportunities of promoting greener motoring in the UK.
It also provides an opportunity to encourage engagement between motor and fuels industry decision-makers and the creative industries whilst raising the profile of low carbon transport in the context of the urgent threats posed by climate change.
The competition pitched some of the UK's top creative agencies against each other with the challenge of developing an effective marketing campaign based on 'real-world' low-carbon issues.
Intelligent Marketing's winning submission, 'Know Your Carbon' focused on improving the existing Vehicle Licensing system and the Tax Disc design.
It created a simple Tax Disc sticker so all 34 million vehicles on UK roads would publicly display their carbon emissions in a user-friendly way.
The judging panel included a raft of high-profile names from the private and public sector, including Leo Burnett Group CEO, Bruce Haines and The Climate Group's communications director, Alison Lucas.
There were also representatives from DEFRA, The Energy Savings Trust, Ford Europe and Toyota.
Commenting on the win Intelligent Marketing's creative director, Andy Maxwell, said: "It's a great honour to be one of just two agencies whose campaigns were selected from an impressive line-up of the industry's creative talent that submitted work.
"We looked to develop an easy-to-understand, cost-effective and easy to implement campaign and are delighted that the judges were so impressed with 'Know Your Carbon' that they asked us to present the campaign at their annual conference".
Intelligent Marketing's 'green' credentials are well established.
With The CarbonNeutral Company already one of their clients they were the first integrated agency to become CarbonNeutral.
They also work on green campaigns for some of their other clients including Honda, Lex and O2.
