A Gartner study on the PIM vendor landscape in Europe puts hybris in fourth place based on revenue and market share and top on market share alone.

Hybris, a leading product information management (PIM) and e-commerce vendor, has announced that it has been named by Gartner in a recent report as the PIM vendor with the largest market share in the European market.

The Gartner report, "Market Share and Forecast: PIM Software, Worldwide, 2004-2010", lists hybris in fourth place in European market share and fifteenth in worldwide market share based on revenues, after close competitors.

Munich-headquartered hybris has shown its leadership among the specialist PIM providers in Europe, and impressively demonstrated its software competence in the provision of product information for use in various parts of the enterprise and to support different sales channels and business processes.

Founded in Munich in 1997, hybris was able to successfully hold its own in the difficult economic climate of the early 2000s by providing market leading technology and solutions.

With a market share of 5%, and customers from various industries such as ICT, consumer goods, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and chemistry - including companies like Blaupunkt, chemfidence, DaimlerChrysler, Demag, Kistler and XXXLutz - hybris is now a leading PIM market player.

"We are very pleased that this report has confirmed our market leading position," said Ariel Ludi, CEO of hybris.

"We believe the key trends presented in the Gartner report confirm our own business strategy and market view.

"By offering a wide range of market leading PIM and e-commerce solutions we will continue to build our position and strength in the market".

Hybris' software solutions facilitate the central and media-neutral administration of product data.

Consequently, they create a "source of truth" for product information in the company.

This information is then utilised in turn for hybris applications in e-commerce, e-procurement, catalogues and database publishing.
