ISP strives in fight against climate
change
A leading Staffordshire internet services provider is contributing to the global fight against climate change.
Hosting Systems has added its name to the national Tree Appeal, joining the likes of Sainsbury's in making a long-term contribution to the environment by planting broad-leaved trees in the UK The initiative, supported by celebrity botanist David Bellamy, encourages partners to commit to planting trees, related to the amount of orders they receive
Hosting Systems will plant a tree for every company that orders a new website, registers domain names or hosts their site on the Stoke-on-Trent firm's servers.
Technical Director Juliet Wilder said: "Our core business value is that we care about our customers, and we think the Tree Appeal helps demonstrate this.
"Hosting and email goes towards the goal of a paperless office, having environmentally friendly servers limits power usage, and we even have a company Smart car to help reduce our emissions.
"We hope to plant at least 200 trees in the next 12 months".
Tree Appeal's Bob Swinbank added: "We want to help environmentally responsible organisations reduce their environmental footprint through tree planting.
"We are pleased to welcome Hosting Systems on board and will do all we can to help them hit their target in the coming year".
Signing up is Hosting Systems' latest charitable venture, after designing, hosting and maintaining a website for the Help a School campaign.
Businesses register onsite to have their internet access provided by Hosting Systems, which generates cash for schools around the country.
