Gyro International broadens global presence

Europe's leading integrated communications agency Gyro International is aggressively expanding its global offering in November by opening new standalone offices in Dubai and Madrid.

In both the Dubai and Madrid, Gyro International will be plugging a need in the market for integrated agencies, and strategically placing the agency to help clients in Iberia, the Middle East and parts of Africa.

In Dubai, Fiona Knowles and Lucy Knowles will consolidate their expertise to become Joint General Managers having previously held positions of Group Account Director and Global Event Director at Gyro International respectively.

With previous experience working in the Middle East, Fiona Knowles estimates a GBP1.8 million turnover in the first year.

Furthermore, Nokia Siemens Networks has already appointed the office to produce a series of customer communications for the region.

In Madrid, ex-European Marketing Director for imation Ana Garcia-Hierro, has been appointed as General Manager of Gyro Spain which will serve the entire Iberia region.

Predicted turnover for the first financial year for the Madrid office has been forecast at GBP1 million (euro1.4 million).

Over the coming weeks, Gyro is looking to strengthen its EMEA base by establishing a strategic partnership with a creative and branding agency in Munich, Germany.

If agreed, the undisclosed agency will share resources with Gyro International which already has an office in Hamburg.

A further announcement regarding this will be made shortly.

Speaking about the latest expansion by Gyro International, Executive Vice President EMEA Richard Perry commented: "Our expansion across the EMEA gives our clients a genuine independent network that delivers a seamless one brand experience with brilliant integrated strategic and creative thinking - in every country".

The opening of Gyro offices in Dubai and Madrid follows the acquisitions of Manchester marketing agency Cicero in March of this year, Swedish agency Dowell Stubbs during the summer and most recently healthcare marketing specialists Woolley Pau; all for undisclosed sums.

Gyro International has also agreed a partnership deal with max II, the Munich-based creative and branding consultancy.

The strategic partnership will allow the companies to share resources and expertise.

Max II will also provide Gyro International with a platform in south Germany to complement its Hamburg office.

Max II is Audi's lead agency for relationship marketing, which includes the development of strategies and creative for new models.

The agency works through the line, nationally and internationally for Gore-Tex, Bang and Olufsen, Central Insurance and HypoVereinsbank BKK, among others.

Speaking about the partnership, managing director of maxzwo, Andrea Lichtenwimmer said: "The agreement with Gyro International is a significant milestone in the agency's development.

"The similarity in beliefs and culture between our companies has enabled us to work well together in the past, and we look forward to taking this next step with Gyro.

"The partnership will strengthen our position on a national and international basis and at the same time expand Gyro's position in the German market".
