Greenwich Design sets Tungz wagging
Business ideas company BoGGleit and branding specialist Greenwich Design have helped to bring a new footwear accessory to the UK market.
Clothes shop owners Sid Copp and Lissy Coles, from Stroud, Gloucestershire, have launched an accessory to help fashionable footwear brand Crocs to give total foot protection.
Trawling through different websites for how to make his idea a reality, Copp found BoGGleit: "BoGGleit gave me the opportunity to check out my idea and see if it was viable - they invested in the idea, turned it into reality and Tungz was born".
Backed by internet-based business ideas company BoGGleit and Greenwich Design, the associate creative team behind the launch of BoGGleit, Tungz is positioned with a simple "must-have" precept.
Tungz fix onto Crocs by inserting three small connectors into the holes on top of the shoe.
Greenwich Design, led by creative designer Forbes Logan, combined the funky and functional aspect of the product design with the humour element of a tongue-shaped logo for the branding.
Initially targeting boys and girls from 4-12 and women of 13-35, best-selling colours in today's modern version of the jelly sandals translate across a range of hand-illustrated motifs: for the boys, pirates, spiders and Sid, a special character not unlike the company founder; daisies, hearts and flutterbys for the girls; and sophisticated animal prints for women disguise Tungz' practical point of protecting the foot from rain and spills without having to buy a new style of shoe.
The interactive packaging allows for mixing and matching the Tungz to the shoes.
The striking visual identity extends to a tongue-severely-in-cheek mailing to footwear stockists nationwide driving footfall to the Tungz website, which features a gallery and order information.
The company behind Tungz, BoGGleit, offers a unique online tool which evaluates ideas to assess their commercial viability.
Greenwich Design is based in Greenwich, London.
Other clients include Shell, Marley Waterproofing, Canary Wharf Retail and Garrods.
