Midlands seminar lifts lid on social media
Midlands marketers who want to find out more about how Web 2.0 is reshaping the world of corporate reputation management will find a forthcoming CIM seminar unmissable.
Titled "Digital Communications and the Impact of Web 2.0 on brands", CIM has teamed up with leading digital communications agency Freestyle Interactive to host this seminar.
At the event, presenters Simon Cox and Andy Wood will separate the hype from the reality - they will look at how organisations and brands are rethinking their marketing communications to take advantage of the world of audience and customer interaction and engagement.
Freestyle's Simon Cox and Andy Wood will flag a range of hot web marketing topics particularly how the new personal publishing tools like blogs, Wikipedia, YouTube and other social network forums are allowing customers to "rant and rave" about products and services in a way that can be seen and heard in minutes around the world.
They will examine if the expected changes have entered the mainstream and how companies, brands and agencies are developing social media campaigns to accommodate the changes.
Siobhan Browne, Chair of The Chartered Institute of Marketing's Birmingham and Coventry Branch, said: "Social media or Influence 2.0, as it's becoming known, is probably one of the hottest topics not only in the marketing department, but also in the board room, where corporate and social responsibility is high on the agenda.
"We felt that an event on this complex and multi-layered aspect of marketing was necessary.
"It promises to throw up some very interesting discussions and debates and we're sure it's going to draw a big audience".
This event is aimed at marketing managers and those responsible for managing corporate communications who want to gain a much stronger understanding and practical insight into how to companies can begin to create communication and marketing strategies that will resonate with audiences that are increasingly online.
"Digital Communications and the Impact of Web 2.0 on brands", organised by The Chartered Institute of Marketing, will be on Wednesday 27 February at 18.30 for 19.00.
Venue is The Priory Rooms, Bull Street, Birmingham, B4 6AF.
