Boxer wins Fabric Warehouse business
The UK's leading soft furnishing retailer, Fabric Warehouse, has appointed design consultancy Boxer as its retained design agency.
This will be vital as the 19,000 GP practices, community pharmacies and dispensing appliance contractors throughout England will go live with the service at different times - starting from summer this year.
The symbol will also be featured on a wide range of communication materials aimed at patients and at healthcare professionals.
About 1.5 million paper prescriptions are issued every working day.
The Electronic Prescription Service will allow GPs to generate and send prescriptions to pharmacies and other dispensers electronically.
This will lead to a much more efficient system with a range of benefits for both patients and healthcare professionals.
For example, patients on repeat prescriptions will no longer have to visit their GP's surgery just to collect a piece of paper.
Martin Brown, who leads the work on the EPS at Fishburn Hedges, explained: "It will be essential to have a strong symbol that patients and healthcare professionals will come to recognise immediately.
"It has been designed to cut through the visual clutter found in pharmacies and surgeries and draws heavily on the already widely recognised green pharmacy cross".
