FHD has been appointed to work on research, naming and brand development for the UK's new Academic Health Sciences Centre, the largest of its kind in the country.

King's College London with Guy's and St Thomas', King's College Hospital and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trusts have announced their commitment to create an Academic Health Sciences Centre that will have the widest range of services and research expertise in the UK - strengths that will be used to drive improvements in care for both local people and patients from further afield.

Sally Lingard, Director of Communications, King's College Hospital, commented: "By bringing together one of the world's leading research-led universities, and three of London's most successful NHS Foundation Trusts, we aim to create a centre that integrates world-leading research, teaching and clinical service - so that patients benefit from breakthroughs in medical science and receive leading edge treatment at the earliest possible opportunity".

The four partners will work closely over the next six months to facilitate more joint working and integration and to finalise how the AHSC will be structured.

Chris North, FHD Chairman, commented: "We are delighted to be working with four of London's finest institutions in the creation of their Academic Health Sciences Centre.

"Over the next few months we are looking forward to developing a unique brand for this world-leading organisation".
