Heineken, proud sponsor of Europe's leading club tournament, has launched a new website for fans of the Heineken Cup.

Aiming to offer fans a unique view of the tournament from Heineken ambassador and England Rugby legend Will Greenwood, HeinekenRugby.co.uk will include regular, exclusive blogs from Greenwood as well as video interviews, competitions and the opportunity for fans to write their own match reports The site will also feature an interactive caricature called Desktop Greenwood who will bring fans the latest Heineken Rugby news direct to their inbox

Speaking on the introduction of his caricature, Rugby World Cup winner and Heineken ambassador, Will Greenwood, said: "I must admit it feels a bit strange seeing myself animated.

"Along with thousands of rugby fans around the country, I am excited about the final rounds of this year's tournament and can't wait to see who will lift the trophy in Cardiff".

Tickets for the Heineken Cup quarter finals have been in huge demand and visitors to Heineken's new website will be able to win some of the last remaining tickets to one of the weekend's big games.

The website will also provide fans with an interactive pub finder tool which enables rugby fans to enter their postcode or town and locate the nearest pub serving Heineken - ensuring fans are never far from a glass of their favourite premium lager.

Heineken, the premium continental bier, is proud to pour its quality product in true continental style with an authentic 'two finger' head of real foam.

Fans who have enjoyed Heineken on the continent will know that the continental draught with its large foam head is considered the only way to enjoy draught beer.

The head acts as a seal, protecting the beer from the air and trapping in the real lager aroma and carbon dioxide bubbles.

Therefore a large head prevents the flavour and freshness from escaping and delivers a quality drinking experience right down to the last sip.

The continental style of pouring Heineken was launched in the UK in November 2007 and is currently being introduced to bars and pubs all over the country.

Speaking on the launch, Jon Lane, Sponsorship Manager of Heineken UK, said: "HeinekenRugby.co.uk aims to bring fans closer to the Heineken Cup and complement the official European Rugby Club website.

"Will Greenwood will be bringing fans his personal views on the tournament and final rounds, as well as offering an insider's guide to the tournament, both as an ex-player but also a respected pundit.

"We hope to be able to engage the supporters and offer them another way to get involved in Europe's leading club rugby tournament".

As the finale to the European club season approaches, HeinekenRugby.co.uk will provide regular news, exclusive views and chances for fans to get closer to the Heineken Cup.
