Bank urges public to support Glasgow
Games bid
Clydesdale Bank, major supporter of Glasgow's bid to stage the 2014 Commonwealth Games, has launched a nationwide Tryathlon to encourage the Scottish public to play a part in supporting the bid.
The Tryathlon is a fun way to keep fit and have fun whilst raising awareness throughout the nation about what hosting a Commonwealth Games will do for the entire country The concept of the Tryathlon involves completing a 500m swim, 10km cycle and 5km run at one venue as a team at anytime during the two-week qualifying period

Clydesdale Bank Ambassadors Yvonne Murray-Mooney, Andrew Lindsay and Kirsty Balfour will be attending the final in Glasgow and will be on hand to answer questions.
World, European and Commonwealth champion Yvonne Murray-Mooney said: "The Clydesdale Bank Tryathlon is a great opportunity for the public to rediscover their love of sport and undertake this small challenge to help raise awareness of Glasgow's bid to stage the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
"I would urge everyone to play their part and I hope to see you in Glasgow on 29 September".
Entry to this fantastic event is simply the normal cost of using the leisure facilities, with an option to donate to The British Heart Foundation.
Ahead of Scotland's best ever performance at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Clydesdale Bank announced its ongoing support of the team through to New Delhi 2010, incorporating the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2008.
In addition to this, Clydesdale Bank became the first Major Supporter of Glasgow's 2014 bid in autumn 2006.

"Glasgow's bid will undoubtedly become stronger with the public backing the bid and the Tryathlon is a friendly, healthy way to demonstrate this support".
