Experience a bit of Spain, France, Italy or Britain with a personalised gourmet food and beverage travel adventure in a basket.

When you first approach the storefront for Fancifull Gift Baskets on fashionable Melrose Avenue in Hollywood, you hardly notice the place It is non-descript, and looks just like any other storefront that you might see in a neighbourhood built in the Art Deco years of the 1920s

Once you enter the shop, though, you quickly realise that there is absolutely nothing typical about Fancifull.

You instantly feel like you have entered another world, a culinary menagerie of mouth-watering delights from around the globe.

All the best things are here: fine cheeses, hand-crafted chocolates, artisan wines, crackers, dips, cookies, beers and candies.

These delights are earmarked for just one purpose, gift baskets.

Not just any gift baskets, but what many consider to be the most cosmopolitan gift baskets to be found anywhere.

Which is why Fancifull is called upon to deliver gifts to the likes of President Bill Clinton, Jennifer Lopez, Nancy Reagan, Tom Hanks and hundreds of other celebrities, corporate and studio executives, and heads-of-state like The Sultan of Brunei.

They all have found that there is something very unusual and special about these gift baskets coming out of this little storefront in Hollywood.

What is special about the place is Terry August, who is not only the Founder, CEO and guiding impetus behind Fancifull, she is also an avid world traveler who has a habit of seeking out fine food and beverage items from every corner of the world.

When stopping for petrol at a shop in Aviemore, Scotland, she found some unique cookies, in a very plain box, that turned out to be absolutely delicious.

Farmhouse Oat Flip cookies are now one item out of the thousands of delights currently put into her baskets.

Within the past six months alone, she has made separate trips to France, Italy and Egypt in search of unusual treats for her baskets.

She will travel seemingly anywhere to bring a bit of the local cuisine back to her shop in Hollywood so she can offer it to her clients, something she has been doing for 20 years.

Her baskets are an exotic mix of food and beverage delights from disparate locales around the world.

A food and beverage travel adventure in a basket for those of us who want to experience, and share, a little bit of the local cuisine in far-away places.

Some of Fancifull's "Gourmet Voyage" gift baskets include Taste of Spain (with a bottle of Crianza and Manchego cheese), Viva Italia (Prosecco, Pecorino cheese), French Countryside (two fine Bordeaux wines), The English Pub, and California Harvest.

August has also just released a new line of gift baskets that offer an exceptionally broad international selection of superb organic gourmet foods and beverages, such as organic Italian tomato and vegetable spreads, natural and organic wines such as Robert Sinskey Merlot, Le Corti and Domaine d'Aupilhac, all-natural Aunt Gussie's Pecan Meltaways and Pure Imagination Chocolates.

But threaded throughout this world traveler is also a savvy businesswoman.

The mainstay of Fancifull's business is the corporate market.

She has successfully managed the entrepreneurial trick of providing a highly individualised and creative product line to the business marketplace on a national scale, if not international.

Almost every major entertainment studio in Hollywood has Fancifull bookmarked on their browsers, and they use it liberally, making the company the number one provider of gift baskets to the entertainment elite.

Many automotive dealerships find Fancifull baskets to be the ideal 'thank you' gift to give to clients that have just purchased a vehicle.

"When we sell a vehicle we send out a gift basket from Fancifull to the new owners," says Shannon McGrath, Guest Relations Coordinator for Lexus of Glendale.

"We include some of our tangible items in the baskets like our CD and a couple of our signature coffee mugs, along with cheese, coffee, chocolates and a variety of delicious things that Fancifull puts in them.

"We send out about 300 to 400 baskets every month, and have been doing this for nearly five years now".

"Our baskets are designed to create a complete and personal moment for the recipient," says August.

"All of our ingredients are carefully chosen and blended to make a cohesive whole - we also personally taste or use all the products we sell".
