EMS launches Christmas safety roadshow with ESC
Event Marketing Solutions (EMS) has launched a pre-Christmas consumer safety roadshow for the Electrical Safety Council (ESC).
The 'Christmas Lights' campaign will visit five city centre shopping areas between 22 November and 13 December and advise consumers on how to avoid electrical accidents with lights and decorations over the festive period.
The Christmas roadshow follows a national tour from EMS for the charity earlier this year.
The original campaign reached 10,237 people in 38 days, and was followed by a second roadshow to target students living in rented accommodation.
Both campaigns were run on board the charity's existing roadshow vehicle, which EMS transformed to provide an interactive experience highlighting key danger spots in the home.
The colourful vehicle - which includes mock-ups of a kitchen and a student bedroom - has been given a seasonal flavour for the new campaign, with Christmas trees, lights and decorations installed.
Shoppers will be encouraged to come on board to explore the hands-on displays and to receive specific advice on electrical safety at Christmas - for example, not overloading sockets and checking for any loose wires on lights.
Visitors completing an interactive safety quiz will be entered into a daily prize draw to win a Christmas hamper.
Giveaways will include free Residual Current Devices (RCDs), which prevent electric shocks due to faulty appliances and wiring, and fun packs and chocolate Santas for children.
The 'Christmas Lights' roadshow was launched on 22 November at the Chapelfield Shopping Centre, Norwich, and is due to finish at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet near Chester on 6 and 13 December.
