EMS wins electrical safety contract
The Electrical Safety Council has appointed Event Marketing Solutions (EMS) to run a major consumer roadshow highlighting the dangers of electricity in the home.
It will visit 24 schools and colleges nationwide - targeting customers in a wide catchment area of each venue.
The seven-week tour - sponsored by Intel - offers ICT and teaching staff, pupils and parents the chance to try out RM's latest product hands-on.
Other products featured include: the ecoquiet PC, which uses up to two-thirds less energy than a standard desktop PC; Community Connect 4, RM's latest network management software; and RM's Kaleidos Learning Platform, which can help schools meet the government's targets for personalised learning.
Feedback from the early venues has been extremely positive, with many visitors commenting on the value of being able to try the products first-hand.
This is the first time that RM has used a mobile exhibition vehicle to showcase its products and services.
RM Marketing Director Nick Stacey said: "We exhibit at the BETT education technology show in London every January but realise that not all of our customers can come and see us there.
"The roadshow offers the ideal way for us to take our innovative new products directly to our target audience - ensuring more of them can enjoy that all-important hands-on experience".
He added: "We are delighted with the service provided by EMS and in particular with the mobile unit itself, which is attracting a great deal of interest wherever it goes".
Justin Isles, Account Director at EMS, said: "A roadshow is perfect for showcasing this diverse range of technology; in a face-to-face environment, customers can get a full understanding of which product suits their individual needs".
He added: "This particular vehicle uses air-ride suspension to ensure that the sensitive technology on board arrives in perfect working order".
The RM ICT tour launched at the company's Oxfordshire headquarters at the end of January and concludes on March 14 at Ridgeway High School, Wirral, Merseyside.
