Eventia offers corporate responsibility tools

An Eventia product story
Edited by the Marketingweek Marketplace editorial team Aug 16, 2010

Eventia has launched a suite of online tools to help the events industry understand corporate responsibility.

The tools are available on the sustainable events section on the Eventia website.

They include: an overview of management systems and why we have them; a description of the BS8901:2009 standard and a downloadable guide to the key steps involved in implementing it; and an overview of ISO14001 - the Environmental Management System.

The tools also include: an overview of the Copenhagen Sustainable Meetings Protocol, together with the full PDF download; a look at the main differences between ISO14001 and BS8901; and information on what is accredited and non-accredited certification and benchmarking.

Eventia has created these tools to support members in their organisation of responsible, value-led live events, with the aim of leaving a positive social impact on people and a minimal impact on the environment.

The trade body has also launched an online guide for organisations to create their own corporate responsibility code of conduct.

The guide covers which aspects to include and how to quantify and track progress of the creation of the code of conduct, and steps to making it meaningful across the four areas of environment, community, suppliers and marketplace, and employees and the workplace.
