Edited by the Marketingservicestalk editorial team Oct 10, 2008

The Events Industry Alliance (EIA) has released the EIA Facts 2008 annual survey, which has revealed that the events industry has bucked the trends of the current media climate.

EIA Facts 2008, compiled by Vivid Interface, gathered information from 812 events, comprising 374 business-to-business (B2B) events, 329 business-to-consumer (B2C) events and 109 outdoor events.

The report's key industry measurement categories, namely attendance and net (sold) space, saw increases in overall median results of one per cent and five per cent respectively, when using like-for-like data for 156 events over three years to 2007.

EIA Facts 2008 offers analysis across the B2B and B2C markets, providing attendance, net space and industry sector examination at both national and regional levels.

The report also includes 'state of the nation' contributions from leading players within the events world, and the 'AEO 100' , a report listing the top 100 AEO member audited B2B and B2C events in 2007 by both attendance and net space.

Members of Association of Event Organisers, Association of Event Venues and Event Supplier and Services Association can download a free copy of the report at the EIA Facts website.

The report is priced at GBP995 plus VAT for non-members.
