EIA is delighted to announce that it has now secured formal partnerships with three leading representative international events industry bodies.

As spending on live event marketing comes within in a whisker of that ploughed into the much vaunted digital sector and with Government's recent inclusion of the sector in its Creative Enterprise Green Paper, there is no doubt the UK events industry is gnawing its way through the credit crunch In order to assist its key objective of placing live events at the heart of modern marketing and growing the medium's market share, the Events Industry Alliance (EIA) continues to champion the need for increased participation and unification amongst all 'live' sectors

To this end, EIA is delighted to announce that it has now secured formal partnerships with three leading representative international events industry bodies: The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) represents organisers, venues and service organisations throughout Australia and New Zealand.

"As our business community looks further afield, the mutual benefits derived from this EIA partnership will develop new routes to growing the annual US$1.2 billion local sector", said Matthew Pearce of EEAA and Managing Director, Diversified Exhibitions Australia.

The Irish Exhibition Organisers Association (IEOA) comprises companies that conceive, create, develop, manage, market, sponsor, supply or service trade exhibitions and consumer events.

"It is the voice of the multi-million euro exhibition industry in Ireland and we'll use our EIA partnership to facilitate our joint key objective, to increase the significance of exhibitions within the marketing mix", said John Mc Donald, Chairman of the IEOA and founder of Toys 4 Big Boy.

The International Exhibition Logistics Associates (IELA) is a union of internationally experienced, professional specialist freight forwarders whose members are found at every leading exhibition site worldwide.

"IELA has enjoyed a fruitful partnership with EIA over the last 12 months gaining UK and global exposure for its Kite Mark brand", said Phil Powell, IELA Chairman and MD of CEVA Showfreight.

"As an organisation, EIA is way ahead of the game.

"As MD of a multinational, I travel widely and experience the events industries of very many countries, few compare in sophistication to the UK.

"The EIA has raised the bar in terms of measurement, promotion of the sector to more influential audiences, generating greater participation from the wider marketing community and in sharing knowledge and best practice.

"IELA as an organisation has prospered through our partnership and so have its members", added Powell.

EIA group chief executive, Trevor Foley, commented: "Three new partnerships stand testament to what EIA is all about: the collective official support from EEAA, IEOA and IELA, not to mention their highly constructive financial investment in our 'promotional pot', will greatly assist EIA to further strengthen its already influential voice, fight its corner, open doors, challenge the status quo and deliver for the live event marketing sector.

"It's great to be working with such forward-looking organisations and with individuals that know and understand EIA ethos and want to share in it".

EIA recognises and appreciates the multi-layered nature of the events industry, and its variety of sub-sector contributors.

The events industry's voice remains fragmented (when looking 'from the outside in') and EIA is keen to attract the support of other well-established representative bodies within the industry, in order to further improve industry participation, and fuel event promotion to its external audiences.
