Swedish data and information company PAR has announced that its pan-European business-to-business (B2B) database, EuroContactPool, has changed to use the NACE Rev 2 industry coding system.

The move follows the EU decision to implement this coding system across the entire European Union and makes PAR one of the first data suppliers to be able to supply NACE 2 selected data on a pan-European basis In order to provide more detailed searches for its customers, the EuroContactPool database is being extended beyond the standard 4-digit NACE 2 level

In all countries where national industry codes are available, data can be segmented at least down to the five-digit (Subclass) level and in some countries, even down to seven digits.

This development enables very detailed selections to be made from the EuroContactPool database in response to industry demands for highly targeted data.

The EuroContactPool B2B database currently holds data on 21.3 million companies and 16 million decision-makers in 13 European countries.

The addition of data for businesses in the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania is under way.

Per Lofgren, Product Development Manager International of PAR, said: "There are huge benefits to our customers in adopting the NACE 2 classification system: some sectors are completely new and many are split up into more detailed sectors, which gives our customers the opportunity find new target groups.

"We have a constant demand from our customers to get access to more highly targeted selections.

"NACE Rev 2 together with more detailed national industry codes gives us the ability to 'drill down' to more detailed data which is very important for our customers.

"In addition to supplying data, we also increasingly link into our customers' CRM systems, enhancing and refreshing their own databases.

"Having a unified system increases both the accuracy and speed of this process.".
