The Energy Event has reported a record number of visitors for 2007 with more than 1,750 people visiting.

This number represents an increase of 20 per cent on the record attendance in 2006 The event, which took place on 12 and 13 September 2007 at The National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, is the UK's only annual exhibition and conference focused purely on energy procurement, management and efficiency

Reflecting the increasing importance that businesses in all sectors are placing on energy management, 23 per cent of the visitors were directors, 49 per cent were of management level and 29 per cent were engineers and consultants.

Additionally, 10 per cent of the total number of visitors had the specific job title of Energy Manager.

Event Director Eamonn Brennan commented: "I strongly believe that the increase in visitor numbers this year shows that there is an increasing number of businesses that need to get advice on energy management and efficiency - the Energy Event is one of the only places that they can get this advice.

"This year we had educational delivery from top-level professionals in the seminar and conference programme as well as all of the product and service advice featured in the exhibition.

"This is why we had visitors from as far away as Barbados and South Africa.

In fact, over 50 per cent of those that responded to our post-event survey attended one of the seminars or conferences held".

A major new attraction for visitors in 2007 was the Energy Insight conference.

Aimed at senior management and directors, the papers at the conference provided proprietary information designed to answer the questions of those at board level tasked with controlling energy costs as part of their wider job role.

As well as the conference and seminar programme, exhibitor space was sold out with over 100 companies demonstrating their latest energy efficiency products and services for visitors.."An excellent event for meeting professionals involved in a wide range of energy management issues", said Paul Sacker, Sales and Marketing Manager of FLIR Systems UK.

The strength of The Energy Event was also reflected in its event partners with British Energy as the official sponsor for the event.

Other sponsors included: EDF Energy, e.on, Encore International, Space Airconditioning, Llumarlite and Philips Lighting.
