Cancer Research selects Drive for pop
auction

Cancer Research UK's annual fundraising celebrity charity event, featuring an auction of pop art and memorabilia, has appointed Drive Productions for a third year in a row.

The event, set to take place on 28 February 2008 at Abbey Road Studios, will include an auction of 60 items of valuable and desirable pop memorabilia and art procured by Cancer Research UK Guests will include a mix of corporate delegates and celebrities while a number of bands, DJs and musicians including The Brand New Heavies will perform

Drive Productions is handling the creative elements of the event including artwork display, a bespoke rock-inspired auction area and a rock'n'roll exhibition featuring photography, art and memorabilia.

Ben Fender, founder and director of Drive Productions, commented: "Sound and Vision is a prestigious event in the music industry's calendar so we were thrilled to be asked to handle the creative elements of this important night for a third year.

"We will create a visual spectacular allowing guests to view the artwork while being able to bid at the same time using interactive handheld technology.

"This auction offers a prime opportunity to acquire a piece of rock history in a venue synonymous with the very essence of music".

Sound and Vision 2007 raised more than GBP130,000 on behalf of Cancer Research UK and included performances by Skye Edwards from Morcheeba, All Saints and Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong.

Pop art and memorabilia auctioned included hand-written lyrics to Yellow by Coldplay's Chris Martin, John Lennon's jacket and a print of Frank Sinatra by Terry O'Neill.
