DeviDoll.com goes carbon neutral
DeviDoll.com has teamed up with Carbon Clear to cancel its carbon emissions in an effort to help combat climate change.
According to DeviDoll founder Sindhu Venkatanarayanan: "While being environmentally conscientious is an obvious part of processes at DeviDoll, we are particularly delighted to be carbon neutral because our support of ethical fashion designers globally does translate into freight-related emissions "We always intended to deal with this particular aspect of our business as quickly as possible but within three months of launch has exceeded even our expectations"

DeviDoll.com is a luxury ethical fashion and lifestyle online boutique, offering designer fashion, accessories and furnishings for the home, from ethical brands worldwide.
Carbon Clear invests in projects that remove carbon dioxide from the air by replacing polluting technologies with clean ones, and planting native trees.
DeviDoll chose Carbon Clear from among several potential partners because Carbon Clear's projects are in developing countries and are carefully screened to ensure they improve local people's wellbeing.
So while helping the environment DeviDoll can simultaneously ensure there are direct, tangible benefits to those who need them most.
DeviDoll has worked with Carbon Clear to calculate the exact amount of carbon dioxide emitted, and Carbon Clear has identified projects that prevent the same amount of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere.
All Carbon Clear's projects are guaranteed to meet the highest standards of social development and environmental rigour.
The project for DeviDoll's carbon neutral program is located in South India under the auspices of The International Small Group and Tree Planting Program (TIST).
It helps small groups of subsistence farmers in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and India to reverse the devastating effects of deforestation, drought and famine.
TIST provides a communication and administrative structure that addresses education, health (including HIV/AIDS) and nutrition needs for its members.
DeviDoll and Carbon Clear particularly like the TIST approach because it works on a holistic socio-economic level, with greenhouse gas credits seen as an enabler for other social benefits, rather than an end in itself.
Since 2002 the small groups organised and funded by TIST have planted over 500,000 trees in India alone.
