Supported by Barnsley Development Agency, a Business Expo and Conference is taking place in March.
In an initiative for 2008, ISMM has announced the intention to create regional powerbases within the UK as a response to member and business needs throughout the country.
It will tailor more benefits to localised needs.
Indicating parts of the rationale for the initiative ISMM confirmed the following objectives.
* More member involvement and participation.
* Extra member benefits.
* Better networking for members.
* Activities for the families of members.
* Greater say in local matters for members.
* Strengthening regional representation.
* Local member recruitment and support.
* Opportunities for corporate members and local businesses to sponsor events and promote their services.
ISMM head office staff in Bedfordshire will support and co-ordinate with regional chairmen and committee members to ensure positive initiatives.
